OUCH!
For some reason, I've woken up the last two mornings to back pain. I'm used to the normal aches and pains that come from being 46 years old, in bad shape and overweight but this was different. A stiffness in my lower back that becomes a shooting pain on the left side if I move or bend. I don't usually suffer from back pain so I'm a little worried about it. Hopefully I'm just sleeping the wrong way.
This illo gives a pretty close depiction of how it feels except that the pain is on the left and not the right.
I'm really hoping that it goes away before my Friday night bowling league.

qwerty
I'm finding that my handwriting is getting more and more unrecognizable lately. I'm sure it's because I very rarely actually WRITE anything anymore. I use the computer for any letters (email) and text people rather than call them. I figure that, in a year, my signature will be just one big ink blotch.

Gremlins
Back ta woik!
After a 5 day mini-vacation cuz of the holiday, it's back to work today! And, boy, do I NOT feel in the mood for this! LOL
It's always hard to get back in gear after 5 days off but when you work as an accountant, it's a lot harder! But at least I have bowling tonight to look forward to.
Hope everyone had a happy Turkey day!

MONSTER WORLD
Some are aware that I'm currently creating a new mini-comic series called MONSTER WORLD!
This grew out of a challenge in the small press group I belong to, the BPP, to basically create something, ANYTHING, without working it to death. MW was my response.
It's basically the story of a world where monsters of myth are real. Not only that but everyone knows that they are real. Children are taught how to protect themselves from vampires and werewolves and zombies, etc. To combat these creatures of the night, an international agency was created called S.T.A.K.E. and they are the first, and last, line of defense against the monsters.
Normally, their lives are filled with skirmishes as small groups of monsters pop up now and then. But lately the head of S.T.A.K.E. has become convinced that the monsters are beginning to work together, possibly to launch an all out attack on the world. Will the agents of S.T.A.K.E. be able to stand against such an attack and, if they fall, what happens to the world?
Each issue is an eight page mini-comic with each issue containing 6 pages of new material, a cover and a text page. I write, draw and publish this all myself on a weekly schedule. It is my plan to produce 100 issues of MONSTER WORLD at which point the series will end. I hope to publish collections of issues at some point as well.
If you like what you hear and see, each issue is $1 with subscriptions of 6 issues for $5 or 12 issues for $10 available. Send payment to:

Good morning!
I'm not usually in a good mood and certainly never on a Monday!
I'm generally depressed and mopey most of the time and have a personality just slightly more cuddlier than Dr. House on TV's HOUSE drama.
But today I am in a good mood and don't know particularly why. After all, the economy is falling apart around us, I don't have any more money than I did last week, my job still sucks and life is generally uninteresting. Still, I find myself more amused by life today than I usually am which I THINK is a good thing!
So, while I'm in this uncharacteristically good mood, I'm going to start up with blog which will generally showcase the thoughts and going-ons associated with me, Sam Gafford, affectionately known by hundreds (or, at least, by ME) as "the Lewis Black of comics".
I might even talk about other things! Who knows? It's a crazy life so grab your dramamine and strap yourself in.
